First Tattoo of 2011

Last night while I was up partying and bringing in the New Years with my girl, I decided at some random point that I wanted to draw in my sketchbook. Not knowing what to draw I decided that I would work on some roses and actually finished a few sketches and didn’t get to bed until probably about 8 this morning.

When I finally arrived to work at 1 this afternoon after only sleeping a few hours I was curious to see what the first tattoo of 2011 would be and I definitely lucked out. A client that I have tattooed before came in with her mom carrying a few pages that she printed showing me the types of roses that she was looking to get tattooed on her side and thigh, she even had printed pictures of tattoos of roses that I have tattooed that she liked. Talk about the perfect client.

Luckily I brought my sketchbook in with the drawing I did earlier that morning and she loved the style so I drew another rose and turned it into a side piece.

And actually ended up tattooing the sketch I did a mere 7 hours earlier as my first tattoo of 2011 and I couldn’t have asked for a better client, this girl was a trooper and took this tattoo like it didn’t even hurt.

I am so thankful for days like this one and it was a wonderful start to my 2011 tattoo year.

  2. Hi Bobby,

Your work is amazing. I love this side piece you did here with the roses, it’s exactly the style and placement I’m looking for. Do you have more pieces like this in your portfolio? I’d love to see them as I’m looking for a Rose/flower side thigh piece.

    Thanks!
