The Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Convention 2012
Gallery: Just Another DC Day
I made the decision that I was going to spend all day at the Smithsonian Museums in DC today at 6AM this morning after a long night heavy drinking, smoking and drawing. Who say’s you have to sleep everyday? I wasn’t tired, and I sure as hell wasn’t abiding by any rules regarding my sleep patterns, if you could call them “patterns” at all.
And with that I packed all my art utensils and pencil cases in my backpack and headed out to the city to spend the day immersed in the history that this city has to offer and to draw in the shadows of the most amazing artwork there is. These are some of the pictures I took along the way today and a short description of what everything is, enjoy:
Who’s pencil is this?
This pencil mysteriously found it’s way into my collection awhile back, I’m not sure exactly when, but it seems I’ve had it for a long time now.
Its nothing fancy, an old Venus sketch pencil, but what I really want to know is who is Trudy J. and why was it so important for her to put her name on this pencil?
Oh well, I have done a lot of sweet sketches with it, so thanks for the pencil Trudy, whoever you are.
Epic Cellphone Photos
I have been talking about uploading all my “Epic Cellphone Pictures” to a Photobucket for a few months now with some friends and I finally got around to doing it last night.
I seriously love the camera on my phone and I love taking pictures of wherever I may be at the time so I manage to compile a lot of pictures in a small amount of time.
Last night I uploaded 593 pictures and that was only from the past 90 days or so, I will be uploading more tonight so be sure to check back or add me on Photobucket: Bobby_Rotten.
In this batch of uploads are pictures from APP in Vegas, Baltimore Tattoo Convention party, sketches I’ve done, some flash work, tattoos I’ve done, pretty much an inside look into my life for the past three months or so.
Surface Bars on a Hip
I did some surface bars on the hips yesterday and was really excited to finally get some good pictures of some of my piercings.
I can do these at my shop for $75 each. I will work out a deal for anyone who is interested in getting more than one, if you are interested in getting some done, please call me at 240. 498. 6527.
Summer is almost here.
I saw this huge cicada hanging out behind the shop yesterday. At first I thought he was dead, but after I flipped him over he started to walk away. It was an awesome reminder that summer is only a few weeks away.
Roosevelt Island
I decided to stop and finally check out Roosevelt Island on my way home from Regan International in DC around 7 this morning. I have heard a lot about it’s trails, but never had been there, this morning was my chance to check it out.
I love finding and exploring remote parts of any city, and at 7 this morning this park was a ghost town. I took some cool pictures of the swamp area, a towering statue of one of my favorite American historical figures, and managed to hike up the an old trail on the Potomac and found a small fleet of fishermen.
I am still blown away by the fact that all the beauty of this island is hidden within this huge city; my gps said I was less than 2 miles from the airport.
Anyway it was an awesome way to start my day, even complete with coffee and random cigarette breaks. Now in less then an hour I commence a very full and hectic tattoo day. Wish me luck.
Random roach
I saw this huge roach covered in over-spray and missing a leg and half his antennae.
Just though I’d share the picture..
Great Falls
This is what the fuck I did today. The most relaxing day I’ve had in recent memory.
