Sketch A Day: Day Five

image

If your not a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle’s fan, you probably won’t appreciate today’s sketch, or even know what it is.
However, I grew up drawing TMNT and those are memories that I hold very dear to my heart haha, yeah right.
Anyways, this probably the 1000th Krang that I have drawn in my lifetime, but I have never drawn him as a senior citizen with a cane, so here we are.

image

image

Ok, so I missed a day or two, it’s going to happen. I had a really busy week tattooing but I hope that I made up for missing a day with today’s sketch, considering that it’s 7:48 AM and I am still up working on it.
As usual, if your interested in getting this tattooed, please drop me an email at bobbyrotten13@gmail.com.

International Art Mail

I received this huge package of amazing artwork from one of my best friends from Youngstown, OH who is currently is teaching English to students in Seoul, S. Korea.
There is nothing like getting a gang of drawings from someone who you respect as an artist mailed personally to you. It definitely is an amazing reminder that I have the best real friends a guy can ask for.
All the artwork featured here was done by Salem Reese, who I am currently working on an international art fusion project with, basically sending paintings back and forth until we think they’re done.

One Day

I just got home from the Baltimore Tattoo Arts Convention and I am totally and thoroughly exhausted, however I decided to randomly upload all the pictures that I had taken using my cell phone from this Wednesday.
This day wasn’t especially exciting for any particular reason, especially not after the time I had this weekend in Baltimore, but it was a fun day in my book. I did some tattoo work on a friend, helped some co-workers with a photo shoot, played around with a green screen, got really drunk some of my favorite people and managed to crawl back to my bed before 5 am.
I will be tattooing today at 3pm in Germantown, however I will make every attempt to upload the pictures from the Baltimore convention today at some point after I get some sleep, so be sure to check back today sometime.
I’m going to bed, I’ve essentially been awake since Friday and I really can’t believe I actually just wrote this.

Derringer tattoo flash

I drew this old school Derringer a few days ago and just finally had the time to outline it in ink and scan it to add to my flash collection. I don’t normally post my flash artwork here because I am going to try to sell it soon, but I really wanted to do this tattoo either this Wednesday, March 16th at 1 or Monday, March 21 at 3. If you would like to get this tattoo done, please give me a call at the shop or send me a comment here or on Facebook.

Sketchbook Pg 3

One of my easier New Year’s resolutions this year was to do at least one sketch a day in my sketchbook and unfortunately that’s the only resolution I haven’t been keeping.
However today I had a few free hours to sit down and actually focus on drawing and I came up with a few sketches I was half-satisfied with. The traditional eye I colored with my girlfriend’s Tombo markers and this was my first time using them, but I really liked them.
The other tattoo I drew needs no explanation at all, I think it kinda speaks for itself, but I would love to do either one of these as a tattoo and would do them at a discount price.

First Tattoo of 2011

Last night while I was up partying and bringing in the New Years with my girl, I decided at some random point that I wanted to draw in my sketchbook. Not knowing what to draw I decided that I would work on some roses and actually finished a few sketches and didn’t get to bed until probably about 8 this morning.

When I finally arrived to work at 1 this afternoon after only sleeping a few hours I was curious to see what the first tattoo of 2011 would be and I definitely lucked out. A client that I have tattooed before came in with her mom carrying a few pages that she printed showing me the types of roses that she was looking to get tattooed on her side and thigh, she even had printed pictures of tattoos of roses that I have tattooed that she liked. Talk about the perfect client.

Luckily I brought my sketchbook in with the drawing I did earlier that morning and she loved the style so I drew another rose and turned it into a side piece.

And actually ended up tattooing the sketch I did a mere 7 hours earlier as my first tattoo of 2011 and I couldn’t have asked for a better client, this girl was a trooper and took this tattoo like it didn’t even hurt.

I am so thankful for days like this one and it was a wonderful start to my 2011 tattoo year.

Ellicott City

I’m an adventurer.
An adrenaline junkie in its purest form, always looking for my next fix. I jump at any opportunity that I can to experience whatever I can in the way of a fix, and I have  never turned down a chance to explore the unknown.  So when my girl approached me about checking out  a haunted city only  an hour away I was totally ready.
I have explored a ton of abandoned buildings before in Youngstown and Pittsburgh in my hardcore graffiti days, but never any “haunted” buildings, so this was totally new for me, I had no clue what to expect.
So the  very next morning we started our journey to Ellicott City, MD, a city that was established in 1772 and is surrounded in lore of a haunted girl’s school, civil war trails and the longest surviving railroad station in the United States. I felt  that if I did any research on this town that I would be influenced somehow to have some sort of  an haunted experience, and this trip was literally just to scope out the town, and figure out where we would have to go to have a supernatural experience. I just wanted to talk to the people, figure out the stories, and make plans to take a longer  trip with more of my friends.

These are some of the pictures that we took of the downtown, the abandoned girl’s school we broke into and some pictures that stuff that we thought was cool.

I really hope these pictures inspire you to take an adventure of your own to Ellicott City, I know I can’t wait to go back.

I am planning a haunted camping trip there sometime next month, maybe even camp out on a haunted civil war trail? Anyone who wants to be involved in this please get a hold of me ASAP.
