Meeting of the Marked

Yep, I am officially excited.
Everything is finalized and I will be attending and tattooing at the Meeting of the Marked tattoo convention in Pittsburgh, PA from Friday, Oct. 29 – Sunday, October 31.
I am sharing a booth with an amazing artist that I look up to and I am already pretty booked up for tattoos, however if you are a close friend of mine I should be able to fit you in for a small tattoo or so.
As everybody already knows, I am from Pittsburgh and haven’t tattooed in that area since I was a mere apprentice when I was 19, so it will be a very interesting and fun visit.
I am really looking forward to seeing all my friends, family and tattoo associates and can’t wait to do lay some sick ink in my hometown, as well as learn as much as I can from the seminars offered there.

New Cards

Ok, it is officially that time.
I successfully handed out all 1,000 of my previous cards and I’m ready to order more, but before I can order more, I gotta draw and design them first.
Being as I am in an art profession I believe that it would be sacrilegious if I had someone else design my cards, not that I would do that anyways, DIY for life.
After I had two solid designs I decided I wanted to do a set of six and release them regularly, I came up with this design to do first.

I literally draw inspiration for my artwork from everything: people I meet, places I go, I’ve even created artwork based off a conversation I had with a complete stranger. I am constantly studying images, breaking them down mentally focusing on the shapes and colors, and how I would do that image as a tattoo.
Everyday I find images that I would love to tattoo on people, if only I had the people who wanted to get these tattoos, haha. So from here on out every few days I’m going to post a picture or two of tattoos that I really want to do, and I’m going to do them at a discounted price, I’m going to call it my “tattoo wishlist” and hopefully it will be a break from the monotony of everyday street shop life.

This weeks tattoo is from one of my favorite games as a kid, Mega Man. I saw it on my 360 one day and actually stumbled across the image again recently. I will do this tattoo full color for $120, and probably way less if I know you personally. Friday the 13th Tattoos

I’m obsessed with the number 13. I have it tattooed on my knee and have a ton of other planned tattoos with it incorporated.
Usually associated with bad luck, 13 is a good luck number for me, and good things always happen to me on Friday the 13th.
So when I saw that a bunch of traditional artists that I respect were doing tattoo specials on Friday the 13th, I definitely wanted to be right up there with them. For the past few days I have been working on a Friday the 13th flash sheet and I am going to try and do a tattoo special of my own: Any tattoo off that sheet on Friday the 13th will only be $13. There will be size and color limitations, but I’m not here to make money, all I wanna do is to do fun tattoos that I drew and have a good time. I already have 16 or more friends who have made appointments, so if you wanna get yours be sure to email me at bobbyrotten13@aim.com or call me at 301-333-1236, the next Friday the 13th isn’t until May 2011… and who know’s where I’ll be then??!

Here is a page from my sketchbook that has a few rough drafts of what is going be on the flash sheet, just so you have an idea. Depending on who I have help me, I might even be able to draw some custom 13 stuff if you let me know right now. These are just a some rough sketches, I’m going to watercolor and laminate the actual set and sheets will be available for sale for $20.
