I recently started working on this traditional rose sidepiece for a client. This is our second session and we finished a the line-work on both bottom roses. The shading and color will be coming soon, so be sure to check back. To see a gallery featuring the sketches and the pictures from the first session click here.

100

Last night I wrote a blog about my 50th blog post and redesigned my site. Today I was pleasantly surprised when I logged into my blog and saw that the post had 100 views, which is also more views then I have ever had in a single day.
Thanks so much for reading and be sure to check back regularly, or better yet, subscribe to my blog by clicking the link on the right.

My 50th Post

I figured that by my 50th post I would have already designed a header for this site, however, how ironic that my 50th post would be about a header that I designed for this blog.
I had started this site randomly one day last June and have been running it by the seat of my pants until I recently decided that I needed to start writing more. I am still shocked and honored that I have had almost 4,000 views, and I wanted to personally thank everybody who has read my blog. Please bookmark the site, check out my tattoo work and feel free to contact me about questions you have about a tattoo or piercing at X2 Tattoos, Capitol Heights, 301-333-1236.

This is the original header I decided not to use because it was too big, I will find a use for it though. If anyone would like some graphics designed or any photo editing work done, please contact me, I need work for my portfolio.

Narcissism Part I

I was super lucky to get a few shots taken by photographer Jamie Winbush while she was at the shop Monday.
She was on her way out the door, but we managed to get these amazing shots before she left.
Thank you so much Jamie, this is my new favorite hoodie and now I have pictures of it forever!

Family First

“To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right.” – Confucius

Being the oldest of 9 brothers and sisters I jumped at the chance to freehand this tattoo for a client today. I wanted to do something different rather than the usual “family first” tattoo, so I came up with this design.
While I was doing this tattoo it made me really miss my little siblings; a few of them I haven’t seen since my dad’s funeral over three years ago, but thank God for Facebook and text messaging to keep in contact with them all.
My siblings are some of the most amazing people I know and every time I hear from then I am in constant awe to think that these are the same kids that I used to spend everyday with playing baseball in the yard and riding bikes, or in the younger kids cases, swimming and riding around on quads.
My family seriously means more to me then anything on this earth, and I have been thinking a lot lately about getting a “family” tattoo so I think I’m going to bump it up a few spaces on my tattoo-to-do list.
This tattoo would serve as a permanent reminder that in order to have greater peace within my own life, I need to put my family first all the time.
